On April 1st, we gathered to thank philanthropist and Princeton University alumnus Don Grasso for his transformative $500,000 gift to the Trenton Youth Wrestling & Learning Center late last year.

During the event,
Mr. Grasso committed an additional $500,000 in support of the organization’s mission. This brings his total contribution to $1 million toward the planning and construction of a state-of-the-art Wrestling and Learning Center in downtown Trenton.

Grasso’s second $500,000 commitment comes as a matching challenge, calling on supporters to step up and help double their impact for the young athletes of Trenton. This extraordinary opportunity means that every dollar donated will be matched, effectively bringing the organization closer to its $5 million goal to break ground on the new facility.

His generosity reflects a deep and lasting commitment to the youth of Trenton—empowering them through mentorship, academics, and the discipline of wrestling.

As part of a comprehensive capital campaign launching in 2025, TYWLC is seeking additional donors to take advantage of this matching opportunity. Mr. Grasso has laid down a challenge to the community. Every contribution made now will bring us closer to turning this vision into reality for Trenton’s youth.

The Trenton Youth Wrestling and Learning Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering young boys and girls through wrestling, education, and mentorship. The year-round program fosters personal growth, self-confidence, and lifelong skills for underserved youth in Trenton, NJ.
